For Sale: Raleigh 531 Frame 60cm

60cm Raleigh Frame & Forks (Reynolds 531)

Renovated road frame and forks 60cm (23.5") believed to have originally been a Raleigh racing frame. The frame was renovated by Mercian Cycles in a lovely lemon pearl paint finish. The Reynolds stickers are marked "Renovated".

The frame has Gipiemme ends with adjusters and gear hanger (130mm spacing).

Braze ons for water bottle, cable guides and double gear lever bosses.

The frame comes with a new Campagnolo headset and Sugino seat bolt.

The frame has been stuck in the garage for a number of years and has the odd scratch from storage. There is also a small dent in the the base of the seat tube around the bottom bracket and a very small dent where the front mech was fitted.

Nerdy tubing fact:
531 was simply rebranded as 531c. It's the same tubez.

I thought it was 531sl that was rebranded as 531c?

'Plain' 531 frames often take 26.4 seatposts, whereas 531c always take 27.2 - so, at least some of the time, there is a difference between 531 and 531c in terms of wall thickness. Also, my touring bike has a "531 Renovated" sticker even though it's made from 531ST.

Measuring the seatpost would be the best way of determining what wall thickness/variant of 531 this frame is.

He has dropped it. I think the price is very good indeed, considering the quality of the paint, new headset etc.
