• This reminds me of the wierd alcy cousin of Stripe, only available for a few years, called Crucial Brew. It was exactly the same design can, but black instead of white, in small cans that barley wines commonly came in. It was about 8%, an early precursor to the Super T era.

    Does anyone remember 'Crucial Brew'?

    It looked like red stripe, but black and red instead of white and red (no doubt, like red stripe, brewed in Luton under license from DG) and it was a small can, a la Gold Label or Mackeson etc. Funnily enough was rather like a mix of those two - I think it was 9%, basically a malt liquor.

    Two of them down the rec with some paki black spliffs. It was 'crucial'. Aaah.

    Consistency is a virtue. Never let people spoil the blessings of age for you. :)
