Ich don't think so
Seriously though I think the combination of any posh front wheel with a generic rear wheel is one of the tell tale signs of a true HHSB. I totally get what you mean but I feel an Ellipse rear wheel is too posh or too "out there" even though it's a hell of a lot cheaper and than a Zipp. -

Personally I don't have any trust issues with carbon fibre (my HHSB is rolling on twin spinnergies - I'll post it up as soon as I take delivery of the final component from CRC) but I think having the budget for Ellipses and instead spending it on a fancy front wheel, which means you have to make do with any old rear wheel is the epitome of slavery.

Isn't there an issue with running ellipses on the street, something about the lockring coming off?
-
• #1889
dunno, the whole lock ring shit was the reason i built my own rear wheels round a disc hub. lock rings are stupid for the streets, its all about the bolt on baby.

horrible risers.

skidding carbon horizontally still feels plain wrong

You're totally brushing aside the differences between a HHSB and a hipster sled here though. "Any old rear wheel" might not have been the proper phrasing, I didn't mean it should look tatty. Simply dropping big busks on all the right parts however will result in either a porn bike or a hipster sled - which quite frankly I'm bored with. Pairing up top dorrah parts with unremarkable ones (not necessarily ugly, excessively cheap, broken or tatty) adds to HHSBness imo.

I think there was a batch of the 2011 model that had this problem, apparently now solved. I know a couple of guys that had the wheels replaced under warranty..

i'm riding the ellipse in the rear and front and never ever had any problems with the lockring or any other issue

that black and red Low is the best yet, but the geometry is still shit.

De-sticker the wheels and re-wrap the bars so they don't look like marshmallow. Might be better to get some different bars entirely.
One of my favourite bikes that Low. I like the shallow rear, and for me if the spacers are there to make the bike more comfortable then I don't mind them... the chainring is ugly though.
