  • Hello Everyone,

I proposed to my girlfriend last week whilst we were in Copenhagen and she was foolhardy enough to say yes. The result of which is we'll need to get married somewhere and have a party somewhere.

Have you been to any weddings in London that you thought the location was great / interesting? There are plenty of weddings I've been to that whilst nice enough strike me as rather a lot of money for not that much. My very good friends got married last year in Islington Town Hall and the wedding party then walked to a pub round the corner that they had for the day. We got drunk and had fun, it was a great day.

I would be minded to book a carbon copy were it not for the following three things that I / we would like to be a little different:

    1. We have friends that will cater for us, the pub was their stuff only.
    2. There was no proper room for dancing / band.
    3. Due to it being a residential area, kicking out was not too much after 11pm. Despite an en masse decamp to The Dolphin, it would be nice to bat on a bit later in situ.

There are heaps of decent boozers and venues in London, but have you been anywhere really nice?

Any suggestions most welcome. I haven't a clue about the funding of this. Not lavish by any means. A decent boozer that meets the above criteria would be perfect.

    Finally, where was this reception?

I also offer apologies to BMMF and take full note of this: http://www.lfgss.com/thread80660.html#post2718058

    Cheers,
    Joe.
