Wanted: Miche Bottom Bracket... I think?

I've got a sturmey archer crankset that's 170mm long. I'm also running a 40mm rear wheel from v-sprint and a 15t/16t sprocket.

I have been advised to purchase a Shimano UN26 or Shimano UN55 bottom bracket 107mm, square tapered, so does anyone have one I can buy? :(

Only if the Sturmey Archer crankset is ISO.....i think they are JIS...so try a Shimano UN55 in 107mm

I have basically got this crankset

But a 42t Brev chainring instead of what it originally comes with. The chain line is out of place and my bike keeps singing to me! :(

The cranks are 130bcd.....so as long as the chainring is 130bcd should not be an issue.....and i read on a thread on LFGSS.....that these cranks are JIS and that 107mm will give you a good chainline......not Miche as that is ISO....like Campag.....Does the 42T Brev chainring fit the cranks properly?

Yeps. They fit perfectly! I bought the crankset from 1000Angels so it's trust worthy that they go together perfectly as well :)

What BB are you using with the cranks at the moment?....Are you using standard 120mm track hubs?

I don't even think they're track BB! I think they are silverlight 103mm? Got them from a friend for free and I forgot to check it out that it worked

107mm JIS....UN55...about £16...or look on ebay...UN26 even cheaper....but not Miche!

I believe all things being equal....ie the right chainring for the cranks, you using standard 120mm track hubs.....then yes it should but...try the search function.....shedborn was selling some in 2010....look that thread up....and you are welcome.

Oh yeah, forgot to answer the track hubs question. Yes they are standard 120mm :)

so..i'd try a 107mm JIS BB as clearly what you have ain't working well!...good old fashioned trial and error because if that don't work.....you might need to try 110mm!

what about the 68 x ___ or 72 x ___ infront of the 107mm? Do I need to worry about that?

68mm is the width of a standard British threaded BB...Italian is 70mm.....aome British frames are 73mm.....so what frame do you have ?
