That's no surprise. I had an accident years ago on Hyde Park Corner.

On a rainy october night an unlit cyclist in dark clothing was drafting a bus up from Victoria and as I pulled out on to HPC he popped out from behind the bus and rolled over the front of my car.

I parked up, and went over to pick him up and ask him where his lights were. He replied by saying that they'd been stolen the WEEK before. I did what most drivers wouldn't have done and took him back to his house in Putney and then dropped him off at the hospital.

Even though he admitted he was unlit and in the wrong, the filth still had me up on a charge which I did walk from in the end.

An update

Bad news: The guy has clearly gotten away with it, tfl have said their cameras were off from 12-3 that night and the popo aren't investigating it.

Good news: I'm back on the bike and while the wrist is a little sore at the mo it's healed up properly as far as the bone is concerned, it's getting better by the day but it's still a little weak.

Sorry to hear that he got away with it. Did you get all of the registration? That could lead to an address and that could lead to a civil case.

nope didn't get the full reg, didn't have time when he left hooked me and we was quite far away once I'd gotten up, hence why the cowardly fuck got away with it

getting stronger everyday, this week is my first full commuting this year, my legs are starting to feel it as well. I can now pull on the hoods without wincing which helps a lot.

down the gym today to do some frustratingly light weights and wrist specific stuff. Movement is getting easier and greater although it can feel I've got arthritis (I'm assuming that's what it feels like) when I push it too far or catch it on something. I might go see the doc soon to see if what's happening is normal or not.
