Has any of you run into inconsiderate National Express / Eurolines coaches drivers? I have had 3 very unpleasant experiences with them in this past moth alone.
A Eurolines drive (left side) who provoked me which I ignored on Peckham Rd, he kept pushing me to the very left, which I tried to avoid including slowing down to avoid him, but he ended up cutting into me and only left less than half meter gap between me and the kerb. He was very skilled that he managed to not to have any physical contact between his coach and my bike, he pulled over, stuck his middle finger up and drove away. Went to the police, was told he is not a UK driver and that I wasn't "touched" in anyway, couldn't do anything. Reported to National Express, got a standard letter. Disappointed.
A National Express driver actively drove onto the bus lane on Old Kent Road and without acknoladeging my existence, again, he did it far too close and he was coming from behind very speedily. it was nowhere near as bad as what happened above, but still, I was cycling on the bus lane peacefully with no other Lonodn Buses needing the lane as it was quiet.
I was on foot crossing the road from B&Q on Old Kent Road, a Express Coach jump the red light with going at least 30mph. I saw all cars Were stopping when the light was going from yellow to red, this coach came from far behind, speed up and jump the red light, I am glad I was a bit slow that day and had a delay reaction to the green light for peds.
I don't know if it's worth calling National Expreess again to report 2 and 3, I feel I should as both were coach 007 going to Dover which could well be the same driver, but then what exactly are they going to do with it apart from a verbal warning at the best?
Am I just that unlucky? As much as I dislike the dreadful Old Kent Road, I have found the drivers are usually patient enough with cyclists as long as you don't slow down / hold up traffic.
