the only slight criticism i have of the venue is..the urinals are too low.. michael hopkins must have designed them for toddlers.. piss poor imho lol.. but the layout of the building is fab and the materials , finishes and detailing superb.. the continous thoroughfare circuit/track at public entrance level was the best bit for me and sightlines throughout are pretty good.
i personally think that 6,000 is a good number for a venue, esp the proximity of the crowd to the action. the acoustics for a full house trackside was incredible. you could felt the vibration transfer through the track wall as the team pursuit rolled past with a mexican wave of roars around us.
for a test event all appeared to go quite smoothly.. behind the scenes no doubt hundreds were involved, if it was anything like the MTB test event i marshalled at last summer.
I do hope there are public sessions at the london velodrome after the paralympics is done, manchester has a great programme, i reckon it would be popular here
