There's some great Gazelle knowledge in there, one guy who regularly posts used to work for the factory.

Correct, but I have just a limited number of original decals / stickers.
I will dive into the garage and dig them out, scan something and place it.
However, it's only late 1980s style and just a few stickers.Repro decals in the market are quite poor (have always ben that way).
Real Gazelle fans do not respray their frames and use repro decals for that reason. -

A bit optimistic ? right ?
I got one just like that sitting at home
hopefully it does go for that price and sets a trend for when i sell mine ! and it's only got the chorus group on it ! -

DC you're a star! I'm sure hendrawahyu will be more than happy. I'm going to PM hippy to ask him to merge this with the main Gazelle thread as I'm sure it would also be of use to others renovating their Gazelle.

I'm really sorry.
I still have a lot of stickers, but nothing from Gazelle left.
Only loads of Giant and several RockShox, RST and others but nothing from Dieren, unfortunately. -

Mr cheese, I've just acquired a gazelle cyclocross frame and fork with the serial number:
4005737
Any idea of the date of manufacture from this number?
Thanks!

I guess the frame was build between 1995 and 1999, compared to the other serial numbers:

As they are all champion mondial frames though, I didn't know if they numbers are similar?

Can you post a picture or a link to a pic please ?
Gazelle did not make that many CX after 1990. -

1993 maybe?
Additional info about Gazelle frame numbers.
No idea how reliable it is.http://jvs.webklik.nl/page/bouwjaren
Maybe the catalogue scans help you to find the correct year.

;0)Okay, clear.
That's one of the earlier cross trophy frames.
Numbering doesn't match Champion Mondial and other CX frames.
It's an early Tour de l'Avenir frame with cross braze ons.
Not the most suitable CX geometry.
I can tell by the 3 cable guides on the top tube (instead of the 2 cable stoppers).
I didn't check the catalugues, but I assume it's from the early 1980s.
For sure pre 1985.Surprised to see it with yellow decals.
New decals applied later ? -

Thanks for that.....I have had a close look at the decals and it does look like there are decals over the other ones......it doesn't matter to me though, as I want to build it up as a do it all bike for a bit of canal paths and light offroad.....if you do find out anymore, I'd love to know!
Thanks -

Probably the same batch.
In those days, this colour (Gazelle blue No. 15) was the only colour available for this model.
White decals I assume ? -
