Spotted in Amsterdam, brakeless with no straps seems to be the done thing. Well It's not like they have big hills to bomb and they do have a dedicated network of cycle paths, but still i'd prefer something rather than nothing I'm sure it's fine pootling around like that but it just wouldn't be as fun. If you can't skid why even cycle.. you can skid with out retention its just not easy, you have to do it all with back pressure. wouldnt like to try it a speed or hook the front pedal.... not ideal. or HTFU.
