Jim, will you be offering carbon clincher track wheels, and what sort of price would we be looking at?
-
• #1278
Funny you should say that....Carbon clinchers need to be real good quality as they can split under pressure...So we are looking at tubs obviously for track as the tyres pressures need to be very high..Maybe a clincher road rim either with and ally brake surface or full carbon.
Personally i wouldnt ride a carbon clincher but realise that the wider market may do...
The quality of all the components will be high and UK built so not going to scrap with the chinese stuff..Buy cheap buy twice and all that. Sapim blade spokes etc etc.
Seriously they are awesome

I have to admit, they will be used on the road as well as the track, but not neccesarily with a brake (apart from the odd TT)... basically what I'm after is a pair of deep section wheels that are a fair bit lighter than the pegasus or DP18, do you know of any alternative lighter aluminium rims or is carbon the only way to go?

Being non-machined, how do the 40mm rims respond to braking? Noisey or poor braking?
As I'll be running a front brake, wondering about getting 30mm front with the machined surface.
-
• #1291
I've run both mate...braking on a painted surface isn't ideal I must say. I would go with 30mm machined front and 40 rear looks great and will be ok for braking..

Thanks for the advice! Think I'll do that. Cheers.

We are expanding the range into road, track and of course fixed. Carbon throughout the range from 50 up to 85mm section..They are super sweet. Alloy tub and clincher in a slightly uprated standard..Building with a range of hubs top inc Miche etc. Sapim bladed spokes as well as standard. Still allowing to do your own builds etc on some....
