Loving this apart from the random orange cable and that crazy seat arrangement you seem to like

I like Gaston's sense of humour. The cable outers are cool.

Love it!

mystery machine sort of finished. not as ecstatic as I thought id be, the tt seems to slope upwards slightly which I hate, and Im worried having spent so much time matching yellows that it looks a bit flowery, but its lovely nonetheless. headset needs some attention as theres a bit of movement, and Im getting a different saddle, black brooks sprinter from the 40s/50s... this ones off my Hobbs build.
can do a proper thread if anyones interested, but didnt really do photos along the way, so would probably be a bit boring. still dont know what the frame is, anyone with any ideas do give me a shout, frame no. 244 under BB.

can anyone suggest a dark grey saddle? something flite-ish? Don't really want a charge or a fizik.. :/
-
• #56961
Ernest the Mercian looks brilliant. I hate sloping top tubes too but the final result is a beautiful bike. I'm particularly enjoying the stem/bars.

Is it just me, or is the front wheel a 27"?
-
• #56963
I bought them as 27s, but I had looked at this and thought that the front looked bigger... perhaps the back was missold as a 700.. is there an easy way to measure? I know that the difference is only 4mm or so.
-
• #56964
Copied the photo into illustrator put two identical rectangles on the wheels and they look to be different sizes obviously this is not an accurate way to measure but it would explain the sloping top tube

I want one now.

just checked, both rims are marked as 27s... balls.
It likely just confirms my suspicions that the forks aren't original.
