    i work on a basis of roughly 400 miles use, i can probably get away with more now i'm lighter, but i'm pretty anal about it, to the extent i actually track mileage covered in shoes as part of my marathon training plan.

    I have got this wrong before and despite my shoes being less than 4 months old i had racked p nearly 600 miles and couldn't work out why my knees were so sore i couldn't run....
