  • Ewanmac...re.Cougar.Can't help with the early years but, about 12 years ago Cougar went bust (after the Dolan period) and Paul Donohue bought them out. He sold off all of the existing stock, I got a couple including a Dolan, and then Paul used the name Cougar for his imported bikes. This enabled him to keep the Donohue name for his own-build bikes which were highly regarded at the time. He built for a few other builders as well, also the team Brite bikes 853 (I have one of them). He was lucky not to get the contract for Team Linda MacCartney as they were never paid for when the team folded. Paul stopped building a few years ago.

(just worked out how to get the original message shown in this one)

This is pretty interesting my build is pretty relevant for this page.

I'm just about to finish a brite 853 I snapped up for £57 on ebay, it has poorly home crimped stays which I may get filled or a new stay put in by superted. I've had to give it a new paintjob though as the original was tatty.

Got a mix of sram rival/force/red and a few nice bits of finishing kit. I've got some beater/training wheels which i'll be looking to upgrade eventually with some crabon jobbies.

How do you find your frame to ride? The welds and finishing seem fantastic.

I'll be posting pics of mine next week.
