Thanks Phil. What is the puncture protection like?
No practical experience I'm afraid. These are brand new, waiting for a new build I'm doing. I suggested Panaracer Pasella initially because in my earlier searches for gum wall options they were talked about as being excellent all-rounders including good durability and puncture protection, but I came across the Challenge Forte (they're "open tubulars", i.e. clinchers but made a bit like tubs, hand made!) going cheap from Planet X - http://www.planet-x-bikes.co.uk/i/q/TYCHFOR-700-BRO-23/challenge_forte_open_tubular_tyre___700c___black_with_brown_casing___23mm
From the online reviews I read, it seems these are fairly hardy for tyres at the more "sporty" end of the spectrum. I certainly couldn't find many negative comments about them. And the logo will set off my red and blue bike a treat. :)
