When you get here the teams are thrown in so you don't need to worry about getting the right numbers.

• #2159
Yep, all over this. Like the lateral thinking Edinburgh.

good session today like. the new court is schaweeeet.

• #2168
Yes definitely. Now we've got rid of the regularly having to stop and get the ball back from outside the court/under the fence etc. problem, we could even try playing some timed games rather than first to 5 one Sunday. I'm guessing it would force a much faster, more open game towards the end from whichever team is losing - counteracting my annoying tendency to dribble very slowly while my teammates sit behind!

Agreed, that was a breath of fresh air. Three years of playing in Newcastle and finally we've got a court that you wouldn't mind inviting another city to play at. Time to get the Scots down in March?
I think it highlights the need to get out of bed on a Sunday though. As we're going to get competition from other sports, I reckon we need to be staking our claim by 1pm at the latest.

Yeah that was good.
The kids could be a problem but only a real problem if their ma's and pa's and uncles and aunts come to get us because the young uns were sworn at...
Good court, good games though.
Earlier the better for sure.

Hey Newcastle
Just to let you know that the Brighton tournament is now accepting entrants.
It would be good to see some of you there, we can sort out housing if needed.

"It's like incest, everybody's somebody's cousin - but there ain't no freaks coz there's nobody loving."
Ditto on the not swearing at children bit; we don't want this court to end the same way Elswick did.
I can play from 12noon this Sunday.

Danny can also play this Sunday.
Great idea Matt. We'll need to time to organise/publicise so how about Sunday 25th March? Clocks go forward that day too so we could play until 8pm! We'd still need to confirm Glasgow and Edinburgh pretty sharpish though.
I might be interested in Brighton if anyone else is. Glad they've given us a good amount of notice.

hmmm, a week after the edinburgh tourney? i reckon thats pushing it a little bit.....
i think april would be more realistic, give us more time to get accomodation for teams (if needed), tournament software (round robin or swiss, depending on amount of teams) , reffing situation sorted etc....discuss on sunday?
im up for brighton, those courts look awesome. good memories of sleep starvation, 7am beers and general haze....

I was just thinking we could invite Glasgow and Edinburgh rather than hassle with a big tournament. If you think April is best though I can do any Sunday apart from the 8th. Should we ask which weeks they could do then pick one for definite on Sunday?
Not to worry.. Went down for 45mins practise dribbling then got my mallet and practised shots...
