Sorry I didn't mean to suggest that you would "pull that kind of dick move". Was more a question for the previous poster who mentioned it.
Maybe I should get a grip. But I'm curious about what drives the rage and righteousness I sometimes see around me and read. (This curiousity is sporadic and perhaps the result of being a bit dim or a bit ill).
If someone runs the red light I am waiting at by passing me on my left, I feel no greater annoyance than if I saw them doing the same thing on the other side of the road. In my head it isn't really undertaking if I'm not moving. I do see now that there is a risk to myself as I may move into that space, but it's small and tbh the 'undertaking' is so frequent that I would probably look before doing so. So it then becomes 'if I was someone else it would be dangerous' which is pretty much the slap to the stranger's face.
My annoyance in that situation is based around the "people running red lights ruin everyone else's reputation" feeling, which is kinda low-level, not the kind to make me want to lash out. I am often also concerned for their safety, but that isn't annoyance. It sometimes make me want to reach out and grab them before they cross in front of a line of traffic that just got a green.
They are genuine questions. Sorry for being thick.
