i looked at his other videos and turns out he's just an all round awesome dude. lives in the woods in a 3 story dome he built (which has an level which is a giant trampoline)
he decided to build a giant robot, but for that needed a workshop and for that he needed a band saw so he just made one out of 2 tires and some pipe, as you do.
