If you don't know Derek Nelson get the newest copy of The Albion or watch this:

He is an absolute monster and creates his own epic bikes.
I remember him from an old Road Fools video. Amazingly ugly bikes but what an inspiration. Good on him.

Arc welding is welding in its most basic form. No gas shielding. In West Africa they build Arc welders out of old car batteries (which shows how simple they are). They work but they aren't great. If you're unexperienced they're very good at burning holes in metal or leaving a huge mess.
There are far better ways of joining metals together.
Its quite easy to pick up though.

Welding and shell suit nylon top. Always a recommended combo.

Shielding gas is given off by the stick in when current is passing and the stick is melting. Sticks also contain flux which then ends up as slag on top of the weld. Fine for thick material but can be tricky with thinner stuff.
Mig would have been an easier and better choice but if he didn't have the money then MMA seems to have worked.
It will be an interesting handling bike.

I'd say that's pretty ingenious, you darned racist.

I'd be very surprised if the tadpole trike has a turning circle of less than four miles (that's if it doesn't snap as soon as he sits on it).

^^ strange brake cable routing to the rear brake.
Cantilever to v-brake conversion, so that's acceptable, given that the routing isn't ideal if he were to use the guides ;)
-
• #2348
Sending the cable around the other side of the seat tube would make more sense seeing as the guide is under the top tube, no?
-
• #2349
Maybe the turns would be tighter? The cable's nicely routed across the seatstay rather than flapping next to the seat tube as well.

what frame is complete without pink dinosaur stickers!
