Let's say Stuart Pearce and his brave lions beat the #1 ranked team by FIFA in a meaningless friendly later this month. Will the red tops hail him as the Messiah and forget about the candle faced tax fiddler and talk up Englands chances of winning the tournament until I get nosebleeds?
