Sorry 'bout your troubles jazzy.
Checked on Companies House for you and couldn't find an entry for Argos Racing Cycles which probably means they are just trading under that name but the incorporated company (if indeed there is one) is registered differently.
Their website is still up (rough and ready and in my opinion not conforming to trading standards as I couldn't find any reference to their company trading details - registered office, directors etc). Again, this may mean they are not actually a limited company.
So I googled their post code and found another company, Print Ready, who appear to be at unit 13 nearby. Their number is listed as 0117 972 4464 so you might want to give 'em a bell and ask 'em about their neighbor.
Good luck

Hunterlar has a thread about his build and mentions Argos were in contact with him a couple of weeks back.
I also thought spotter might be sort of Bristol based - maybe drop him a pm.

I've had 2 frames done by them and while the results are brilliant the process is painful. One frame took about 6 weeks longer than quoted because of staff illness and a couple of bank holidays or some guff. However they did knock money off for me when I bitched about the delay (and suggested they make a discount out of good faith for the inconvenience). It's a pity to hear that they may be having problems as their work has always been 1st class. What number have you tried ringing?

Or ask Hilary Stone if he knows anything?

Or Lord Lucan?
apologies that's not helpful.... hope it gets sorted

My gf had a custom frame and wheel build from Argos, excellent work. However they are not the most organised bunch and timescales seemed vague at best. I doubt they've run off with your money, probably just being a bit disorganised.

Probably spent more money than it's worth on it, but anyone have any ideas how much the 1981 Pinarello Prestige could be worth?

Just the frame? Around 350 something like that? Maybe a bit more as your work there is so lovely. I might be being a bit optimistic. I'd be interested to hear what people think as I have a similar vintage Asolo. Love that blue. Always said that when it comes time for a re paint I'd go that way. Congrats on it either way. Even if you've done yourself on the money it's a lovely frame. Go ride it to death then paint it again in ten years or so.

Anyone can recommend of a good frame repair shop like Argos cycles in London?
I have been in an accident and the frame needs wielding.
Thanks

Oak Cycles, though Ryan doesn't like doing repairs. Bike Fix on Lambs Conduit St is the cheapest I've found for small frame repairs. There's Talbot Frameworks down Crystal Palace way, a few people have got lovely frames from those guys.
If it's a shitty frame and you don't mind a cack handed repair I'm a welder, though more suited to bespoke furniture than frames.

I'm your man! I have over 10 years experience.
I left my Pinarello to be restored by Argos Cycles in Bristol before Christmas, and left a deposit of £150, I was told to contact them again in late January when it should be ready.
There phone number is out of service, and I have received no reply to emails sent over the last 3 weeks.
I am now concerned, short of visiting there myself to find out what has happend to my frame. I wondered if anyone has heard any news about Argos Cycles or had this problem before?
