Also I dont mind taking on rep duties for Canterbury (as seem to sort everything out here anyway) if it has a regional place. Also hope to be in cmabridge for bench minor tourney.

Ive changed my mind. London deffo needs two reps at least
-
• #58
are you thinking North and south or...?
-
• #59
No, ha!
Just think due to our size (no. Of competitive teams) we should have at least one more vote. Thinking about euros spots being decidecided by ukhbpa, obv it is in the interest of most scenes to vote for by city spots not merit.

..think of all the peripheral 'rotten boroughs'

Would 1 rep and the size of your vote is based on number of players be an option?
-
• #62
sorry, i always misread you otter
-
• #63
Like 1 rep per scene, but the london reps vote would carry, say, 5 times the weight of a manc one, if you've got 5 times the players

Max are you kidding? London should take a back seat with the UKHBPA I reckon, otherwise we risk taking it over (and pissing on the parades of others)?
If the UKHBPA make decisions that irritate/disagree with London then we'll have to cross that bridge when we come to it... my personal opinion is that the UKHBPA will have to tread the difficult line of being representational without annoying London (it's pretty to see that UK polo will be better off with everyone pulling in the same direction/doing what's best "for polo").
All for the UKHBPA, go for it Luca.

I agree with Jono. We have to trust the UKBPA will seek all of UK polo, because if we don't trust them, then we're f***ed. 2 reps shouldn't be necessary.

Is UKHBPA meant to be a rest of UK thing, or an all of UK thing. If it's all, it should be (IMHO) representational based on the number of players in a scene (might need a bit of counting and organising). London as a bigger scene should, fairly get a bigger say, but it means you won't be "in charge" of things, if that makes sense.

im not bothered either way. but i think this needs a bit of a push otherwise not much will happen.(and i dont want anyone missing out on potential first meeting) so i think we all need to get reps from each city and add them to this list. first meeting can be at cambridge regional bench minor (maybe the night before?) where we can set things up. i will message most scenes later when i get home and ask them to add to the list.

this is the mandate that was given to me at the LHBPA meeting.
Im only a representative of London polo so if anyone disagrees with that course of action we can always have a meeting to address how London wants to be represented in the UKHBPA prior to the UKHBPA meeting.
Of course if Londoners have a problem with me representing them, im always happy to step down.Lets take this to the LPC forum, or should it be the LHBPA forum?

As you were Ben, just keep London up to speed with your thoughts, etc.
If we end up with any further UKHBPA spots, then we'll elect another representative, but you're "the man" for now.

I agree with Max, after all even with 2 reps, the rest of the UK still could easily outvote us, and we probably have as many players as the rest of the UK together.

No, if you were mandated, then you should carry on as you think best!

One region/scene, one vote... Seems fair to me... Let's give it a chance, eh?

If the UKHBPA wanted to, they could petition all UK players to decide various proposals (effectively giving London the right to sway in with our majority number of players)... this is essentially an issue of trust and you have to trust that the UK association will be a good thing for London polo.
If London try to control (or don't trust) the UKHBPA, then it will fail before it has begun.
One city, one vote.
