how old is she? is she spayed? if not, the meowing could be because she's in heat, in which case you'll want her sorted pretty quick. otherwise she'll start cycling (not the 2-wheeled sort) loads and drive you mental. rubbing her face against stuff is marking territories, nothing to worry about.
