Can you specify whether you want a Uniglide cassette or a freewheel screw on.
There's a Suntour 13-26 freewheel on ebay.US http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUNTOUR-AK-VIA-FREE-WHEEL-12-SPEED-VINTAGE-BICYCLE-/200703228846?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2ebad83bae
Not sure Shimano did a 13-26 at the DA level until later though there was a 600 1-28 -

6 speed cassette does not compute, you meant freewheel right?
Sjs have lots in stock, IRD especially make the best one.
H. stone also have some nice sun tour to be brought.

.You obviously don't know about 6 speed uniglide cassettes, these are slide on with the last sprocket being the lockring. They fit to a freehub so are sans the built in freewheel mechnism. The OP needs to differentiate as to which is required.
SJS do freewheels but not in the ratios asked for 13-28 is available in Shimano 600 6 speed guise though just spotted this nice Maillard http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Maillard-Course-Freewheel-6-Speed-14-26-/280815284503?pt=Cycling_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4161e53117![](http://rover.ebay.com/roverimp/1/710-53481-19255-0/1?ff3=2&pub=5574889051&toolid=10001&campid=5336527178&customid=&item=280815284503&mpt=[CACHEBUSTER])
Sachs also did 13-26 6 speed freewheels. -

I disagree with this entirely Ed. It's been well documented that IRD had massive problems with the Mk1 version where the pawls would randomly fail to engage with the teeth. This was traced to a design error and supposedly corrected with version 2. It wasn't.
I bought a Mk2 and this failed while pulling away at a set of lights and I fell off and damaged my frame.
This was replaced under warranty for a Mk3 which did exactly the same thing within 400miles, this time while getting out of the saddle up a steep hill. I hear the Mk4 is now sorted but I wouldn't take the risk, especially for the £40 or whatever they're asking.I now stick to second hand or NOS Suntour or Shimano (any flavour seem tough). Also, those cheap Zenith ones of which Hilary has some of for about £15 are very good for the money. They often pop up on Retrobike too.

I have about 4 IRD recently and they turn out perfectly fine, to be fair I only start using them a year ago, when did you get the 4th revision?
NOS Suntour, Shimano or Malliard tick my box (currently have Suntour Winner).

I gave up after Mk3 so didn't try the Mk 4. Two failures and 3 attempts to rectify the problem by IRD was enough for me to lose faith. There was a good reason Suntour and Maillard were fitted to pretty much every bike as standard back then and they are still a good second hand choice today so long as they're not too worn. Very well engineered.
In 35 years of regular cycling the only freewheels I've ever had fail on me without warning were the IRDs.fixedrob: apologies for the chit-chat but hopefully you'll find the info of some use to you.

Shimano did do 6 speed cassettes, I have one if you need it... also I have a load of 6 speed freewheels. You can pick up new Shimano 14-28 for less than a tenner on fleabay, I have a DA 13-21 that's sweet but non cheap, otherwise I have atoms, a regina ORO etc but all fairly close ratio, 13-21 etc.

This is very interesting. Sorry, I lost this thread, only just found it by searching. Does anyone know how I can keep track of posts/threads? I am quite new to this.
I have bought one Dura Ace 7400 6 speed freewheel but am looking for another (so that I can have two sets of wheels, one for training and one for racing).
Cheers

the hub that Id like to use is a shimano 600 hub, where to remove the gears you unscrew the smallest cog and then the rest slide off.
In the end I bough another rear wheel (Mavic) which fitted the 6 speed dura ace freewheel (not cassette) which is 13-23
so I'd like to find an equivalent six speed cassette for the shimano 600 wheel (with the same gear ratio)
Then I could hopefully swap the wheels over without altering the gearing.
Please PM me if you have anything suitable. I may lose this thread again...
Anyone got a 6 speed dura ace / suntour cassette for sale?
Ideally Im looking for 13 - 25/26
Also looking for a lockring for the fixed gear.
Thx
