Did they not come in smaller sizes?

I never seem to be able to find tig'd steel stems in <100mm.

yes they did come in smaller sizes. condor have a lot of 100mm itm stems, made of columbus thron, in their sale at the moment for £10, might not be eclypses but are very similar in shape. (or at least they did when I bought mine)

or you can get shorter ones (90mm) from here for £15

The one I fancy is the Llewellyn kit - available from Ceeway - if you have a mate with a brazing torch the kits cost about £25 for the cro-mo, and a bit more for the stainless.....

Thanks. I was after the quill ones though. I don't actually know if they are stiffer, but people seem to say they are. It was more a parts bin thing. Or depending on the drop possibly for an build now.

If you're after a cheaper option, I have two of the bellow. They're neatly welded, and look nice imo. Obviously heavier than an alu one, but not excessive. Here is what the 100mm 0 degree's look like on a bike: https://www.lfgss.com/post2656531-2226.html

I also found these Kelly hand made stems.

Seem pretty much spot on, just waiting for details on stock from the seller. They look like the salsa stems. Still aesthetically I'd like to have an ITM or columbus logo on it ;)

cheers tallsam, bit of a coincidence this as I started filing and filling the welds so it will look as smooth as possible yesterday and sprayed a test card of candy blue over silver.
