-
• #28
I didn't tell them about the flamethrowers or the rollerskating bears

Not hairy enough.
Although I think most bears would get lost amongst the beards of polo.

tbh, i only wanted to scroll down so far after putting "gay bear roller skating" into a google image search

I'll scroll down further once the missus has gone to bed

Cambridge,Brighton, Bristol, on board. Luca will send out an e-mail to all the other scenes. Could coincide the not yet announced regional bench minor with a get together.
Birmingham on board too.

I doubt we'll have a problem in mcr either, ain't discussed it yet though

One rep per city, would that be too many?
Is anyone interested in stepping up for uk champs? A formal UK body should hopefully make the logistics (esp funding/expenses) a whole lot easier to manage. Here in brum we don't have a cheap indoor space or a good double outdoor court tho.Regional Bench Minor orly?

awesome! London would be in i'm sure, could we have two teams? North and South?
IMO 1 rep per city for a UKBPA would be great, set up an email list, vote in a chair. Get some shit done.

there would be valid arguments for london getting more than 1 rep, and at least 2 teams.
Let lucasconi decide -
• #38
I think we'd only need 1 rep really
-
• #39
fair enough,
I'm thinking too far ahead to votes representing numbers and stuff, as for just getting cities to talk and agree on stuff you're probably right -

hello guys we are currently having a polo meeting about everything one of the agendas was UKHBPA and we spoke about it all.
we have agreed on sorting it and saying one rep per city, but there isnt going to be an invite sort of thing, each city can personally sort it themselves and get back to this thread with a rep soon.
as some of you may know cambridge will be having a regional bench minor soon and we were hoping this could be an opportunity for the first UKHBPA meeting. more details for the tournament will come soon.
things that could be talked about are things like rules, speaking how rules may change, possibilities of new rules, easy ways for refs to call currently hard calls etc also tournaments in the future (Euros worlds etc) and also obviously the UK champs can be easily sorted this way. and we can all take our own notes and then report back to our own citys to inform them and also they can give ideas we can bring to meetings (just like school council meetings!)
ok so everyone loves a list:
Cambridge rep - Luca

[Kind of on subject]
Emailed David (Velocio) about getting links to the different scenes around the UK - in the same way fixed gear sites are linked to on the main page.
With Manchester creating a site at the moment, Cambridge online, EBP have a site and Glasgow wanting to use theirs more.. what other scenes have forums/ websites?
Not heard back yet, but I reckon it would be a good way of helping the communities get players and for travelling players, and UK poloists alike, find where in the UK people play.
Is there anyone here with the privileges that can make this happen or is David the man to talk to? -

David is the man to talk to

I also have the UK reps per region, just let me know if you need them (I don't have Canonbury or Frome yet, etc).

After the LHBPA meeting last night apparently I have ended up as the London rep

I was looking at the league of bike polo, it has a good list of UK clubs, dunno how up to date the e-mail contacts are. I have been thinking of sending a questionnaire out (everyone loves a questionnaire), so we can make up graphs, maps and diagrams. Any suggestions of questions ?
How many players/teams in your region?
Description or Type of court ?
How many vegan tattoos ? -

Im trying to get the ball rolling in the burbs of North Kent and i think a UK wide body for the sport would help make it far more accessible to many others around the country.
Not yet announced regional bench minor sounds awesome.
