Veloaf - cycling bread

Posted on
  • Our friend Tom from Loaf community bakers has just brought us a new batch of his cycling bread (suitable for vegans). Jam packed full of slow release carbs as well as quick release sugars. Much lighter on the stomach than malt loaf, it's somewhere between sweet and savoury.

We had some at polo a while ago and it seemed to do the trick.
It's £1.70, let us know if you want to try as we've only got 8 loaves. It would be good to get some feedback, as this is still in development.

  • Looks tasty. Lunch time beckons

  • Cycling bread - bit tenuous no?

  • Can I reserve one?

Also - is this at Look Mum, No Hands?

  • 5 loaves left.

@bazschmaz - I think he said it's got over a 1000 calories in it. So would be good pre ride and/or on the road.
    @Duroy, sorry mate, Birmingham only.

  • dibs hyper can i pop down to bbf inabit?

  • Shame. Sounds great.

  • Can I reserve one?

Don't believe him Duroy, stuff like this only ever happens in London.

  • sounds awesome, is it a secret recipe?

  • Surely your local coffee establishment makes something similar........ Coffee Fix. The home of athletes.

  • Steph makes lovely cakes, but no Veloloaf... if she had the recipe though... ;)

  • 2 loaves left

sounds like a Nick Drake album title

  • I made some cycling bread. It was like banana cake but without the fat. And it was disgusting

  • We've got some more. V2.0 is in four easy tear off sections.

  • I made some cycling noodles last night, and cycling porridge this morning

  • Guaranteed to increase endurance by 300%*
