Veloflex only make racing tyres; there are lots of better options for just riding around. Anything up to 700x23 will look fine on 19mm rims.
Yes, but none that look like the veloflex tires (beige/black), as far as I know. If there are other brands that make these, I'd love to know!

Now that the velcro straps from both my blackburn flea lights are broken, what can use instead? Anyone got any secret super fixes?

The straps that come with laptop chargers. Casually walk around your local university library and steel them off peoples laptops.
Another option on a seatpost is to cut a small section of innertube (1-2") and then take the seatpost out and slide it up.... not sure what to suggest on the front.
Incidentaly do you have the usb or the battery charger ones? I've finally decided to try and charge my (battery) one using an AA battery and it doesn't really seem to be working.
Worth sending back to Blackburn? Or are there any tricks anyone knows of.

I have the usb ones, two front ones and a rear. The rear has a clip so thats easy enough to sort put i'm at a loss with the fronts.
the usb charging is fine on one of them, the other's a bit dodgy and tempramental. haven't yet resorted to Blackburn's USA only lifetime warranty though.Still super bright though, i cycle along the road and see signs reflecting the flashing miles away (not literally miles but you know, a damn long way).

Not sure where either of those links go as they're blocked at work so i'll check later, cheers (unless its just porn).

no porn I'm afraid, just an ebay link. Haven't checked size, but I've had to buy similar straps before and there's loads on ebay with delivery they generally come to a couple of quid.

How many red bull or similar drinks can you have in a day before they damage you? Not looking the self-harm on them, just stay awake.

If you're prepared to let aesthetics get the better of practicality, Vittoria have a tyre for you £35 at Ribble
And so do Challenge, £30 at PX

I had these. Use them for a short time. They were nice. They looked nice. I didn't get a puncture.
Not the most comprehensive review, and I didn't use them in anger. But for the price you may as well give them a shot.

Hugo - I just searched on "conical spacer" or "cone spacer" when I needed a new one.
You have to be careful though because sometimes they perform the function of being the compression ring too which means they are somewhat headset specific... I am sure Tester can confirm/deny.Also on the computer - I have that non-cadence cateye and it is GREAT (very small too).
However, I have one major element of buyer's remorse - NO BACKLIGHT!!!
Since I am out in the dark for 6 months of the year it is pretty useless then.
I find myself contorting into weird positions as I pass under street lamps in an attempt to read it.
Or taking off a glove and attempting to use my lily white hands to reflect light onto it from my front LED.
There is a non-strada Cateye wireless one that is slightly bigger but comes WITH a backlight and has the same functionality.
If I had my time again, I would get that. -

Can anyone identify this frame? Im guessing its custom. Saw it outside the Tate modern the other day and took a few quick snaps. Really like the way its put together and the lugwork.

Your sanity.
I take it you're saying use alu.
TBH I was actually just after a black rather than the current red one, in the slow aesthetic transformation of my road bike. I assumed "upgrading" rather than just a pure replacement would be sensible.

It's an FSA one on a 2010/11 Giant TCR... I'll get searching.
Also on the computer....
Too little. Too late.
I purchased it from fudges cycle store last night for £55.97.
Oh well. I only really ride my road bike in the daytime at weekends, and it'll keep getting lighter...
Thanks for the pointer anyway. I'll keep it in mind going forward. I think you're referring to the V2C, which is luckily +£75 so properly out of my original £35 budget.

Is there any way you can convert a bike to fixed with vertical dropouts without using a chain tensioner?
Is there any other ways of doing it other than playing round with the cog ratio to make it fit?
