Back to back marathons this weekend including 20k in the dark, my first ever proper night time trail run. Lots of lessons learned (like carrying 2 spare torch batteries isn't ideal when it actually takes 3) and a little slower than I'd have liked but no deterioration in the foot which is a big plus.
A good tip is to wear a peaked cap. At night you can rarely spot small branches before its too late. With a cap you can quickly nod your head, and aviod getting poked in the eye.
