A Brixton cycles club member and old school Herne Hill racer, if you trained or raced at the track you probably would have known Rob, a massive man with a massive enthusiasm for the sport.

  • That's a terrible loss. Condolences to his family.

  • Shit, I was chatting to him yesterday on FB. Stunned. Can't believe it. A great man, gentle giant. Always full of encouragement. Also one of the few who kept grass-court polo going as long as it did. A real loss to UK cycling.

  • such shocking news.. for those that knew Rob Jeffries, to his family and friends my condolences, keep strong, ride safe..

    RIP

  • Ah thats really sad

  • Sad day thoughts go out to his family

  • Whilst travelling to Hillbilly and MrsSocks wedding we passed a Ghost bike on a wide carriageway near Wareham. I've just searched google to find out more details as to who the cyclist was.

The realisation that that bike on a soulless stretch of the A351 was a memorial to Rob has left me feeling rather bleak. You deserved better Rob.

  • Not sure I'd have ridden there had I seen this before hand. It's my biggest fear of riding outside of London.

    RIP
