RED BULL HILL CHASERS 2012!
Britain's Dual Up Hill Bike Challenge Returns to Park Street, Bristol on 18th February !
Park Street in the heart of Bristol will be the venue as 32 cyclists come together in an attempt to settle the fierce debate of which kind of bike is best uphill.
In 2011, the final of the Red Bull Hill Chasers event in Bristol was truly awesome. In front of a huge crowd, Charge Bikes team rider Chris Metcalfe eventually won the knock-out competition. In all 16 national and international pro cyclists (including Red Bull Athlete, Danny MacAskill) competed head-to-head in drag races against 16 top local cyclists (including Rob Lee) from different disciplines - road; fixed; BMX; Cyclocross and mountain bike. After the race Metcalfe said the event was his favourite bike race of the year: "The crowd is so close to you as you ride up the hill that they really spur you on” and “it’s great that relative unknowns can ride against some of the best riders in the world, and all right in the centre of Bristol!
Red Bull Hill Chasers takes place on the famous Bristol street starting at 7pm on Saturday February 18th. 16 invited elite and 16 amateur cyclists from BMX, mountain bike, road cycling and fixed-gear compete in a series of gruelling head-to-head knock-out rounds on the unforgiving incline. Riders will be paired randomly giving amateur riders the chance to compete against the elite. Look out for some big name competitors!
A knockout format will halve the field – until just two riders remain for the ultimate showdown. This year, the course has been shortened and pinch points added to suit the race equally to all disciplines.
In addition, everyone has a chance to compete at Red Bull Hill Chasers against the elite riders. A qualifying round will be held on Hill Street ( just off Great George Street) between 8.30 am and 11am on the morning of the 18th Feb. The fastest 16 riders will be notified by text of their place at Red Bull Hill Chasers. For your chance to compete against the elite as one of the 16 amateur riders complete the registration form on the right ->. Then just turn up to the qualifier with your bike ready to ride!

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
For your chance to compete against some of the top cyclists in the world and become Red Bull Hill Chasers Champion, come to the qualifier on the morning of the event. Register by completing the application form on the right of this page.
The qualifier, open to any anyone, will be held on Hill Street which runs parallel with Park Street, just off Great George Street, from 8.30 am till 11am on the morning of the event (18th Feb). Come ready to ride!
If you are under 18 you will need a parent to complete a disclaimer for you.
The fastest 16 riders will be contacted by text to confirm their place at Red Bull Hill Chasers. We will be in touch by text to let you know if you have qualified and also to provide further details on the event. Entry closes on February 15th so sign up quick!
