There's two ways to fit a headset. One with a press, which you can make yourself (threaded billet, some big washers and nuts, and a big turny gubbins. The other is with a block of wood and a mallet.
My advice, hop on the bus to B&Q and buy the bits you need for the former. The latter tends to be a bit hair raising and probably not that good for the frame, your headset or sanity.
