That is true, when I was in belgium for Stalen Ros 4, I saw a lot of Merckx locked up like that on the street. With panto campagnolo parts and other nice parts. It's a belgian thing. In the Netherlands we think they are stupid, so maybe they are.

I concur our stupidity, but this is certainly more explainable with the fact that the pro-thieves are not interested by expensive bike (YET) / there is no street demand for stolen bike in Belgium (YET). All of this IMO ofc.
