Me and Sam were out at the courts until 7 waiting for people to show up. The court was plenty grippy in the very light rain and in my mind a two on two is better than no polo.
I don't like the lists for polo, I think that if people see only one or two names down, they won't bother making the effort. If they think everyone else is going, they will follow the crowd and turn up. Not everyone checks the forum every 5 minutes and it sucks when people have to turn back after making the trip out to the courts.
If people do want to make lists, it should be finalised at least one day before the session and people should stick to their intentions, unless there is seriously bad weather in which case one person should put a definitive message up at least an hour before play.
I would have seriously appreciated a text about the sessions yesterday being 'cancelled' because I checked the forum at 5.45 and had no reason to assume that others wouldn't be coming. I had a shitty day in the library and really wanted to let out some energy on the court.
