"Surely I can't be the only one who really really wants to see Madrid show up and turn Barcelona over. I know it is unlikely but if Barcelona keep beating Madrid with such ease and sense of inevitability then these games will lose all mystique. I shudder at the thought of typing this but I think it would be good for football if Mourinho's Madrid were to win and win in style." Nice grenade you dropped there, Liam. Put your brass hat on.
Doesn't look like it's going to be this game, so anyone else wonder how long mourinho will stay at real, even if they win the league (still a possibility, being 5 pts up), seeing as they got rid of del bosque after he'd won the Champions League for them twice...
I for sure do not want to see that prick win anything else that will swell his ego any further. The fact is he's leading in the league and looks unlikely to loose it, so the least he suck up is is the deep psychological scar inflicted by Barca mirrored by CR7's constant loosing out to Messi irrespective of his phenomenal goal tally year on year. The only bonus to Maureen winning anything out there is that it would keep him off these shores for that little bit longer.
A well deserved victory for the mighty 'pool last night sees us going to Wembley for the first time since 1996.
We should have wont that by four or five goals, but again a visiting keeper puts in a MOTM performance. You have to love Bellamy for his work rate and attitude. There is not a single team in the league who would not want him. Except City that is. Out of all cups now and only the league to hang onto. Better not blow it now then >>>>>>
Firstly Mike, why perpetuate the latest fucking irritating lazy media dribble about LFC's first Wembley final for x amount of years when the fucking stadium was knocked down and rebuilt!! During that period we've played at the Millenium stadium 6 times.
And you second part outlines our problems: We've got that ex-big club turned small club mentality, turning up for the big games but dropping point against teams many think we should be winning. The quality of the personnel. Citeh- a very poor and weakened Citeh didn't do an awful lot yet bagged two goals and weren't fully out of it until the end. And even then we were lucky with the ref's decisions*. Yet again we did well in the possession stakes and pretty build up yet bagged only one goal in open play in two legs. No points for Opta percentages. The first league game against them was even worse. If you wanna score, do more than just kicking it hard, or have you forgotten Djibriel Cisse? De Jong's goal was top notch because he was able to pick out the corner of the net. IT's no longer about: "their keeper had a worldy"
Guilt edged players or a sharp change in mentality is what we desperately require, otherwise got used to inferiority complex with a dose of mediocrity.
We're out of the running for the likes of Erikssen, Shaquiri and Hazard so I think we need a strong youth promotion getting properly blooded alongside quality older signing(s) ala Macallister/Cantona bringing experience and the best of fellow team mates.
