Girl on Essex Road/Upper Street this morning wearing a PDM cap and riding a real period piece: a steel Specialized Sirrus with Biopace cranks. Pretty cool.

somebody on a jump type bike (don't know how else to describe it - MTB with a top tube and seat stay that makes a continuous line from the head tube to the drop out) with a white, peaked skateboard helmet swerving in front of a motorbike by not looking over his shoulder while overtaking a bus outside E&C this morning. Made the motorbike slam the anchors on and fall over. Biker seemed fine but even a small spill like that could cost him a lot of money in cosmetic repairs.
I only have a small commute but I see so much of this kind of dick move every day. If you can't go in a straight line, look over your shoulder, if there is something coming and it's not clear whether they are eletting you out or not, don't go.
IMO, people coming from behind (steady) should see you and it should occur to them that you are not going to ride over the top of a bus so it is likely that you could move out to go around it so they should adjust for this potential hazard (this is what I generally try to assume when following behind someone). However, it is just suicidal to assume that everyone is going to pay you the same respect on every occassion.

He basically lives in there.
Xander will now have to do his weekly shop in Fortnum & Mason to re-instate his posh levels.

Morning Nursey. Was strange this morning, there was very heavy traffic on my side of Finsbury park, I cut through the park as usual and when I emerge on the other side Severn Sisters Rd is completely empty, no sign of the indecent that caused it either. Was a bit "28 Days Later".
