Hi,
If you are interested in used wheels, I am looking to sell a pair. IMO these would suit you pretty well. They are damn strong and in great condition.

Specification is:
DT Swiss 1.2 rims
Condor hubs (manufactured by Goldtec i.e. same but just a different shaped hubshell)
32 Black DT Swiss spokes
Originally built by Condor Cycles
Well maintained (trued and tightened annually)
Hubs run perfectly without any play
Plenty of life left in the rims as shown by wear indicator dots
Cog threads are excellent, only ever run singlespeed so fixed thread is unused
Small dent in rear rim as shown in 2nd photo.Looking for £100 inc postage. Based in Surrey so can do local pickup for a reduced price. The price new is about £300+.

Buy Varno's wheels. Best I've ever had. They're really strong, terrific value and he's a nice bloke as well.

gah, just to complicate matters, Evans have the charge dish wheels at 109.00, but in rubbish colours (or a massive wait)

I suspect that a pair of hand build wheels will be much better than these, but can someone just confirm that for me. Would be looking to go to V-Sprint (Varno) for hand build ones.

I think Varno's wheels are handbuilt, or at least highly expertly trued and tensioned, which is the same thing, more or less. I vote for V-Sprint wheels.

Whats up everyone,
I am in the process of selling my current bike and putting together a new one and need some advice as for the wheel choice.. as I am aware there are plenty of guys on here that know a darn sight more about bikes than myself so I wondered if you have any recommendations?
I am pretty sure I have decided on an All City Big Block and hope to get it ordered asap..

I'm not looking for anything that is going to break the bank too much as I am a student but something that will last.
Cheers

btw agatee, im sure theres loads of other threads discussing this?
I've only ever heard good things about the V-Sprint stuff, but would definitely get the sealed bearing ones. You might also want to look at Halo Aerorage / Aerotrack (I'm not sure what the difference is) - these are pretty popular.
