  • I went. I thought it was pretty impressive given that the bicycle building industry is dominated entirely by the corporates.

All the exhibitors offered something different. We all know that there are similar designs and techniques which take years to master and execute, but Ricky Feather and a guy called Paulus Quiros had so much passion for what they do so I would definitely consider a frame from either of these guys.

SuperTed was showing too. I am obviously biased towards Ted because of his undoubted talent with metal tubing and anyone who has seen what he achieved with my forks will testify to his genius. I would also seriously consider a frame and/or stem from him.

All in all a rather inclement day made so much better by a decent bit of good, old fashioned British engineering.

  • Ace photos Steve! Just as good as being there!

  • Some great shots from Gav. A few things I didn't spot!

  • 'played! Nice pics guys...

  • Well, surprisingly I didn't win the mitre competition

Thank you for supporting the Bespoke Bristol Show and taking part in our Mitre Competition.
We had 72 mitre attempts over the 2 days with 6 at exactly 73 degrees.
These 6 were then checked against the tubing for closeness of fit.
The final decision was made by Kajak framebuilder and the winner was a Hugh Knudsen.
I am sorry to disappoint you however we have decided to offer £200 worth of tubing when booking a frame building course.
This will be valid until 31st May 2012 and only valid for those who took part in the competition.

The free tube set is a bit of incentive to try and go on the course at least!
