    B**ut for more laughs get something like an old 850 Guzzi T3, and stay off the main roads. The Guzzi is probably hard to find (but and old Spada might be findable) Everywhere you go you will meet people when you stop.
    At least they did when I did this, never ever had to pay for accommodation, had a sleeping bag and a bivvy bag, but got put up in all sorts of places so rarely used them.
    The bike is really is easy to keep going, none of the major items caused any trouble, all the niggles were relatively easy to fix. I did something similar on a Ducati too, met a lot of people, mostly garage people
    I keep hankering after doing it again, happy days!
