  • +1 Great to hear he's doing Ok, Refreshing considering the first post that I'm able to say this.

  • Your well wishes will be more than enough for the time being i would say, not really sure what we could do atm apart from offer support in any way we can. The whole situation has sent a shockwave throughout the courier community....it's been all i thought of all week. It really is an awful thing and i can't even begin to think how Andy is feeling. As i said, i feel Phil, our fleet manager is very keen to do what ever he can to help out and see that Andy gets the right help he will inevitably need. I spoke to him yesterday and he said the recovery could be a very long process due to the severity of the injuries sustained. Again, considering, it's a fucking miracle he wasn't killed, he's one tough dude. A couple of our other riders, on the way to Channel 4, saw Andy's bike and said they've never seen such a wrecked ride.......The fact he is alive and talking an all, gives me/us all hope. I'll pass on all your well wishes and post back here once i've spoken to Andy in person, which in its self is something i thought i may never do again...be safe, Dan.

  • Sounds horrendous. But great to hear that Andy is pulling through. Hope he heals up soon.

  • +1 we are all thinking of him.

  • Thanks Danny Boy,Andy is very lucky to be alive.I have never seen something like that happen before and it makes you realise life is to short.I hope he makes a full recovery. Please keep us posted with any updates thanks.

  • 32 tonnes of lorry and he's "in good spirits". Hard as nails! Let him know he's in the thoughts of hundreds on keyboard warriors please DB and cheers for keeping us updated.

  • I am very glad to hear he is doing ok given the circumstances.
Lorries of this size are still thundering down this road at about the rate of 1 per minute :(

  • I tumbled off my bike braking/swerving avoiding a big dumper truck last night outside my office, which appeared to be shedding bits of broken glass. Oh, and when I got ahead of him nearer Parliament Square I looked up at the cab to make sure the driver got a glimpse of me/took note and he was dancing in his cab to his very loud stereo

    shakes head

  • I am representing Andy in his case. Please can any witnesses to this accident send me a PM. I have already approached CptBob and antSJD.
    Thanks

I have given a statement to the police. I do not think it is appropriate for me as a witness, to be in contact with any of the parties in this incident. I have no more to say on the matter.

  • ^Actually, thats not strictly true, the civil case is totally different to the criminal one, and speaking to a solicitor isn't speaking to either party, its a party employed by one of the parties, which is slightly different.

You can do a lot to help without speaking to them, if you really object to that. You could let the police pass your statement to them onwards, which is a huge help. It really really does make a difference.
