Thanks, I don't mind going for smaller, but like I said, I have tested the 49 and while the stand over height seems ok, I found it harder to control. But to be honest, it was 2 years ago and I hadnt been cycling in London for that long then. I don't rally nan get another au, simply because I have got one already, I know it a totally wrong size for me, but still, I want the steel one this time. But thanks for the info, maybe I'll get Evans to get both sizes in and text them again. I think they still run that policy where you can pay a small deposit to gt any bike in for a test and have the money back if you don't want to buy it?
The only problem I have found with my current langster is that it hasn't got a very good clearance at the back for fatter tyre, mainly because of the brake bridge stopping fatter tyre to be put in. I hae got a 25c at the moment and the wheel is at the absolutely far back position, is that the same for the steel one?
