What is a hipster? Look at this fucking hipster...

Rakan is a pretty amazing human being and a real life friend.

Quite a lot of stuff on this thread is just about awesome people who do things a bit differently from your average office worker, but look simular to other people who do awesome things.

I don't really mind being called a hipster (and I know most of you think I am), even though the thing that sets hipsters apart from the people who do awesome things (at least to me) is a real driving passion for owning stuff instead of doing stuff.

Sorry, I know this is boring but I like defining stuff for myself, even if other people don't agree.

None of these people are awesome. No one is awestruck by them. They can't be, otherwise what would happen when they see a mountain?

Have you considered the possibility that a lot of people who you would describe as your average office worker might be just as awesome albeit without the time or the inclination to spend so much time working on their self image?

I'm all for individuals, with their own style, thoughts and viewpoints, but that's not limited to people who try to look awesome. Some of those average office workers are interesting people too.
