Might have been a bit too long, but see if you can do a Refresher Dive. Take your cards along anyway.

You're right on Ras Umm Sid - a crime if you don't dive there. Nice and calm for the dive part of your refresher. There are probably some cheap shops for supplies as it's where all the dive staff live (in the flats around the corner from where you'll be).

You're also nearer to Old Sharm, go check out the markets. And of course, the Camel Bar in Na'ama Bay. And if you want some awesome local food - go find Gado in Na'ama Bay.

Not sure at the moment, depends if I get the bike works done in time. I've a late meeting so probably won't get home to start them until at least 8pm ... and I'm pretty knackered from a busy busy week already.

Use bottled water for everything - from cleaning your teeth, to rinsing out your ears after being in the sea (do this every time - gets the little bits of plankton and fire coral out so they don't cause infection).
