He is on the lookout for a Black circa 1930s Rudge Whitworth bicycle removed from the basement of the Oxo Tower building (south bank) between last thursday and saturday (12-14th Jan).
Strictly speaking it was unlocked, as all of the bikes 'unclaimed' bikes in the basement had been cut free as part of a clean up operation. But even though unlocked, it doesn't make them another's property.
There is some disagreement between my dad and the building management as they were cut free 48 hours earlier than the posted deadline, and as such my dad hadn't had time to remove it before the cut-free operation.
I'm assuming that a lot of the bikes in the basement may have been taken en-masse by dealers or for parts? I know for a fact that the Rudge needed a bit of work doing, so it's unridable and probably sitting somewhere awaiting restoration or purchase right now.
Please shoot me a PM if anyone has any details; Would really appreciate any info as the bike has quite a strong sentimental value.
Cheers!
