Everything carbon

  • I'm about to take the plunge and go for a full carbon road bike for the first time.

Now, I pretty much need to know everything from torque wrench settings to where carbon assembly paste is to be employed.

So, for assembling a carbon frame and forks (carbon steerer) into a complete bike, what do I need to know and what tips can you giver me?

    Thanks!

  • Carbon chains are dodgy mind.

  • Why aren't you cycling?

  • his carbon chain snapped.

  • probably cause by a carbon chainring.

  • or slipping on those nasty tyres.

  • Torque until you hear a crack, then ease off 1/2 a turn. Smear your balls with the paste.

  • Carbon tyres are quite hard to inflate.

  • shakes fist

Anyway, I've put some paste on my balls.... What's next?

  • insert the seatpost....

  • Remember to torque it correctly

  • carbon fibre would be a better option

  • Announcing that you've had a Damascan conversion to full carbon fibre on this site is a bit like going up to George Bush, telling him you're planning on joining Al Queda and asking for some contribution to your travel costs.

Or maybe you want your steely brothers to pull you back from the brink of madness...

  • Admittedly, I shouldn't have been expecting anything less.

I'm off to Bike Radar to enjoy some sanctimony instead.

Bloody smart arses shakes fist (again.)
