  • Got a letter from the cops the other day about my crash in May.

"I am writing to advise you that police enquiries are now complete.
Despite every effort being made within the framework of the law, police have been unable to identify the driver of the other vehicle at the time of the incident."

"However, court proceedings are now being brought against the defendant named below for an alleged offence contrary to section 172 of the RTA, which relates to failure to give police information associated with the above incident."

So, am I right in understanding, they know who it is but the driver is basically denying it was them so the coppers are taking them to court for not providing information on who was driving, if it wasn't them, you know?

Just seen this on the Rider Down thread. The last time an investigation went this far with me, the case was spat out by the courts. I'm not sue why, but no-one was done for either taking me off my bike, or for not giving the name of the driver. Keep a close eye on it, and do follow it up.
