  • See the bit on this page titled "Threaded Type Forks". Basically, what it says is to measure the steerer length from where the crown would sit to the end. Then measure your head tube. Head tube length - steerer length = stack height (roughly - you also need to take into account the locknut lip etc).

    It's kinda important to get this close to right or you might not be able to fit the locknut - that's why I didn't end up using this headset. I think most frame / fork combos use the lower stack heights (33mm ish) like the Tange one Betty has going. The Condor is one of the larger stack heights (40mm).

    Ah ha. Thanks for that. I haven't actually got the frame yet, but it's early 90s, so it'll be 'normal'.
    Maybe I should just wait...
