I stumbled across Canonbie for the first time as a cyclist at the beginning of last summer. I was so genuinely chuffed to find a proper hill in South East London I was chuckling out loud to myself all the way up turned round rode back down and back up again. A builder having a cup of tea on a scaffold called me a lunatic.
Have you seen Spybot's South London Hills route? 27mi of similar surprises...best enjoyed fixed.
