I've spent more than I really should (across two accounts admittedly) just on the website and I've also bought quite a bit elsewhere over the last year - if I'm not close to being in the Imperial Works area by now, I never will be as this type of splurge won't be happening again!

...and I scummed to the CX 3/4 bibs. £80 all in just seemed too good a deal to pass up and I figured they were a pretty practical buy. Just hoping I've got the correct size.

Ebay will be flooded with Rapha in the few days that follow the sample sale anyway so there's bound to still be bargains if you want them.

Gutted. Got a £50 rapha voucher as a leaving present from WfW in September last year, but what with getting married etc at the same time, I appear to have now misplaced the voucher! Just emailed rapha to see if they can reissue the voucher and cancel off the previously purchased one. What are the chances? Here's hoping!

Also tempted by the 3/4cx bibs but not sure on sizing. I am 6 ft but 65kg and with a 29"waist, I am between a medium and large in assos bibs, but they go more by height....

I was joking with the spendage..... I don't think there's enough money in the world.

Dammit, How were the cross bibs post ride? I'm slightly tempted but may just wait for the sample sale

Really good, I wore leg warmers as well, but could probably have left them at home. Really tempted to grab another pair and the cross jersey.

Deciding on whether I need them is the tricky part. Got the classic bibs so may just get some knee warmers instead (although reviews seem mixed on these)

so the sample sale is almost here, who went last year and whats the best day to go?
im assuming its all base layers, tights, hats and stuff that didnt sell rather than pro team jackets and softshells
im thinking friday as a lot of folk will be working

I remember reading some cuntsavvy business man went in at the start of the first day of the last one and bought the entire box of base layers on his credit card [to sell on ebay no doubt].

Last winter I went on the sunday and while it was a complete nightmare finding stuff in the boxes as it had all been turfed around a few decent items were available.

Yep and people will go and take the Friday off work so that they can try to be the first to rummage. Then sell the stuff on ebay.

This happens with ALL sample sales.

I don't get paid until the day after it finishes but if i can borrow some cash off a family member I'll try and get some bits.

Haven't decided yet if I do it will be Sat/Sun as I will be in Mauritius on the Friday.
