Not fully understanding the use of the terms cool or fast here.
Winning races is cool, "winning" the sprint to the cafe on a club run is arguably not.
we dont race the team, we break away, we train harder than the other people there and they accept that, we usually end up going a longer route too, that way we all get to the destination at the same time.
'cool' was just a phrase used lightly, not saying its cool to go faster, it was a joke.
also, 'fast' is just the name given to the group that go faster, there is also a 'slow' group funnily enough.
